PENGUMUMAN :
Dimaklumkan bahawa bermula pada 22 Januari 2010, MTDC tidak lagi menerima permohonan baru bagi dana CRDF dan TAF. Ini adalah kerana permohonan yang telah diterima sehingga kini amat menggalakkan dan adalah dijangkakan peruntukan yang sedia ada akan digunakan sepenuhnya. Segala kesulitan adalah amat dikesali.

ANNOUNCEMENT :
Please be informed that effective on 22 January 2010, MTDC will no longer accept new applications for CRDF and TAF. This is due to the overwhelming applications received to date and it is expected that the allocations will be fully utilised. Any inconvenience caused is much regretted.

MTDC has been entrusted by the government to manage a number of special-purpose grants, which were created for providing financial assistance to entrepreneur and companies involved in developing promoted technologies in Malaysia. The grant scheme was first introduce during the 7th Malaysia Plan (7MP) (1996-2000)

The objective of the grant schemes are :

·          To encourage researchers and techno-preneurs to commercialise research finding of local universities / research institutions;

·          To encourage Malaysian manufacturing companies to acquire high and promoted technologies to improve their operations.

As a manager, MTDC coordinates, process, evaluates and recommends fund applications. After the funds were disbursed, MTDC’s grant management team monitors the performance of projects undertaken by the grant recipients.

In general, the scheme’s financial assistance comes in the form of matching grants. Eligibility and limits imposed vary in accordance with the scope of activities and type of funds.

The following are the type of funds available :

1.      Commercialisation of  Research & Development Fund (CRDF) As an added stimulus towards the commercialisation of R&D activities, the CRDF was established, providing partial grants to qualified R&D projects for commercialization.

2.      Technology Acquisition Fund (TAF) Established to facilitate the acquisition of strategic and relevant technology by the Malaysia Industrial Sector, it provides partial grant to further promote efforts by the private sector to acquire new technology and to enhance their technology level and production processes.
